The leaders of Engineers Institution, Bangladesh (IEB), the oldest professional institution of Bangladesh, said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman laid the foundation stone for making Smart Bangladesh. He dreamed that Bangladesh would develop in a modern and smart way. Bangabandhu called upon Bangladesh to use soil particles through engineering knowledge. Engineers are working to realize that dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The engineers are united under the leadership of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Engineer leaders expressed their realizations while celebrating the birthday of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day organized by Engineers Institution in Ramna of the capital on Sunday (March 17).
Bangladesh Engineers Institution President and Member of Parliament Md Abdus Sabur, IEB General Secretary Engineer SM Manjurul Haque Manju, Vice President Md Shahadat Hossain Shiblu, Engineer Md. Nuruzzaman, Engineer Kazi Khairul Bashar and other leaders of IEB spoke at that time.
Engineer Md. Abdus Sabur said, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman started all the developments we see in Bangladesh today. If you want to be a smart citizen in building a smart Bangladesh, you must follow Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman gave instructions to build the technology needed to build the newly formed independent state by indigenous engineers.
IEB General Secretary SM Manjurul Haque Manju said, “We are Bengalis and citizens of Bangladesh only because of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Still, BNP attacked the Supreme Court elections to create chaos in this country and to make all elections controversial by professionals”.
Engineer Md. Shahadat Hossain Shiblu, Vice President of IEB, said that it was through Bangabandhu that the country called Bangladesh became known on the world map. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman made Bangladesh a role model for the world.
The celebration of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birthday and National Children’s Day began with the hoisting of the national flag at the IEB premises. In the morning, the leaders of IEB laid wreaths and paid tribute to the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi-32. A prayer service was arranged for the peace and salvation of of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and all the martyrs of August 15, 1975 at of IEB conference room and Iftar was distributed among the poor and needy.
IEB Assistant General Secretary Engineer Amit Kumar Chakraborty, IEB Dhaka Center Chairman Engineer Mohammad Hossain, Vice Chairman Engineer Md Habib Ahmed Halim Murad and other engineering leaders were also present.
