The regional competition of World Robotics Championship- Technoxion’s Bangladesh phase has ended. PAU Robotics Club has been selected as the best club in this competition organized by Bangladesh Open Source Network and Frontec Limited.
The members of ‘PAU Robotics Club’, the champions in the Robo Race segment are – Md Mobashshirul Islam, Md Asifur Rahman, Shahadat, Mousumi, Israt Jahan Mim and Nusrat Jahan Mim.
In this segment, the ‘Kshapa Chaka’ Club became Runners up; The members of the club are – Md Rakib Hossain, Md Fardin Hossain Niloy, Abrar Rezwan Prince, Tajuddin Ahmed Rafi, Shahriar Hasan Jetul and Atiqur Rahman Sajib.
Also, the members of the champion ‘Team Kaktaduwa’ club in the bot combat segment are – Mridul Hasan, Bayezid, Md Ashiqur Rahman, Abu Anas Nasim, Md Nahid Hossain, Syed, Nadeem, Maudud Ahmed, Md Rizwan and Tabassum Bandhan. In this segment, the runners-up ‘ARC Perception’ club contestants are – Khaliduzzaman Mridul, Md. Mominul Islam Himel and Jagannath Bhowmik.
On the other hand, in the fastest line follower segment, the members of ‘PAU Robotics Club’ are Saiful Islam Tuhin, Nazim Mollah and Tanveer Ahmed. Runners up in the fastest line follower segment ‘Team Void SUST’ club members are – Avro Biswas, Sauvik Sarkar, Md Imrul Kayes, Md Mobarak Hossain and Md Jamilur Rahman Miron.
The contestants of champion club ‘AFK Interceptor’ in Robo Soccer segment are – Sheikh Saif Simran, Siyam Tahsin Bhuiyan, Shuvra Sourav Sarkar, Yamin Jannat, Samiul Haque, Md. Rahat Al-Mamun, Md. Raihan Hossain, Fatin Ishraq Tabib and Sumaiya Rashid. In this segment, the contestants of the runner-up ‘Team Kaktaruwa’ club are Mridul Hasan, Bayezid, Md Ashiqur Rahman, Abu Anas Nasim, Md Sabuj Ali, Md Nahid Hossain, Syed, Nadeem and Tabassum Bandhan.
Similarly, the contestants of champion team ‘Aurora’ club in innovation segment are – Ramin Mehran, Mahfuza Yasmin, Snehashis Saha, Shahriar Masood, MOB Jihad, Tanay Banik, Palak Poddar, Ratul Hasan, Shahinuzzaman Sanim and Sadia Mobashwira. The runners-up in the innovation segment were the members of ‘Harimohan Science Club’ – Md. Abdus Siam and Md. Toshin Elahi.
The contestants of ‘Spark Robotics’ club selected as Most Prominent Project in the Innovation segment are Mohaimen Sarkar, Atanu Kumar Dey, Falgun Sen Apu, Kishaloy De Dweep and Fahim Faisal.
In the business case competition segment, the champions of the ‘Highway to Heaven’ club were Mohaimenul Solaiman Nicholas, Noman Kibria Ryan and Shihab Mahmud Ameyo. In the Business Case Competition segment, the runners-up ‘Enigma’ Club contestants are Manjurul Hossain, Fayaz Bin Shafiq, Sushmoy Saha, Samin Mohtadi and Nafis Alam Adiyat.
Contestants from champion ‘Roborils’ club Ad making Challenge segment are – Fardina Rabi, Abdullah bin Mahmud, Asaf Mahmud, Amar Yusuf, Ahnaf Ali, Anya Afroz Nadi, Muntasir Haque Faiz, Ahnaf Hossain, Srabanti Khan Shashi and Fariha Ahir. Runners up in this segment are the members of the ‘Hudayi Hudai Saam Rasta’ club – Mamunur Hamid, Nahid Parvez Mafi, Ismail Arian, Osman Wafi and Afif Lashkar.
The national level competition was held on the campus of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) on March 8 and 9. American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman was present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the national level competitions-Tecnoxian.
Professor of EEE department of BRAC University Dr. Shahidul Islam Khan; Raisul Kabir, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BrainStation and Mamluk Sabir Ahmad, Managing Director of Computer Services Limited were present as special guests.
Director of Information Technology Institute of Dhaka University Dr. BM Mainul Hossain; Professor of Information Technology Institute of Jahangirnagar University Dr. M Mesbahuddin Sarkar and Rafiqul Islam Managing Director of 1st Technoxian Bangladesh Silver Sponsor ‘Fana Infotech’ were also present.
Before handing over the prizes to the students at the closing ceremony, Dr. Shahidul Islam Khan said, ‘It is not enough for city students to make robots; this program should be spread to rural areas.’ At that time, Raisul Kabir said, ‘Learning how to make robots and moving abroad will not benefit the country. There are many opportunities in the country now. Those opportunities should be brought to people’s use.’
About 1,500 students from 110 clubs of more than 60 educational institutions in 6 categories participated in this two-day competition. Among them, more than 400 were women contestants. The categories were Robo Soccer, Robo Race, Fastest Line Follower, Innovation Contest, Bots Combat, Business Case Competition and Ad Making Challenge. The entire competition had a total of 10 external judges who selected the winners. The other 2 segments ‘Drone Challenge’ and ‘Water Rocket Challenge’ are selected through divisional judges.
A total of 14 people were awarded in 7 categories in the national phase. Awards include medals, certificates and cash checks. A total prize money of around 4 lakh taka has been given.
Apart from Ad Making and Business Case Competition, the winners of the national phase of the rest of the segments will be followed by the National Camp. The Bangladesh team, selected from the camp based on the performance of the students, will represent Bangladesh on a stage with more than 20,000 competitors from around 50 countries at the 8th World Robotics Championship to be held in New Delhi, the capital of India. It was also announced at the event that the world famous IoT and robotics brand ‘Arduino’ will start a new distribution in Bangladesh through Frontec Limited. Besides, the representative of Bangladesh of International Federation of E-Sports, Head Professor of Mechatronics Department of Khulna Engineering University Dr. Mohammed Helal-An Nahyan introduced the guests and contestants in attendance.
The closing ceremony was conducted by Redwan Ferdous, General Secretary of Technoxion Bangladesh, Director of Frontech Limited and overall coordinator of 1st Technoxion Bangladesh National Round. Abdus Shakur Siam was the coordinator of Technoxion Bangladesh. Also 65 enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers from American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) ARC and other clubs were present on the occasion. The officers of Frontec Limited were in full cooperation. At the end of the program, ‘AIUB Performing Arts Club’ (APAC) performed a melodious acoustic music.
Earlier on March 8, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) Professor Dr. Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Technoxian Bangladesh President and BDOSN General Secretary Munir Hasan, Bangladesh Innovation Forum Founder Ariful Hasan Apu, ICT Olympiad Founder Mohammad Shahriar Khan were present.
