A technology-based competition ‘Mind Storm 5.0’ was held at Bangladesh Army University of Engineering and Technology-BAUET, located at Kadirabad, Natore. The competition was organized by Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department. Monday, March 4th was the last day of the three-day competition.
Software and hardware showcasing competition was held on this day. Before that, the competition was held in eight segments including Programming Contest, Idea Contest, Software Showcasing, Hardware Showcasing, CAD Contest, Gaming Contest, Quiz, UI UX Design. 455 contestants participated in this Mind Storm 5.0.
University Vice-Chancellor Brigadier General Md. Shahinur Alam said that, it is not too late to fulfill the Prime Minister’s vision of Smart Bangladesh. Our students have come up with such innovations that we are truly amazed and delighted to see. Through such competition, the artisans of building a smart Bangladesh will come out.
Earlier on Saturday, 02 March 2024, the University Treasurer Colonel Mohammad Hamidul Haque (Retd.) inaugurated the competition by cutting ribbon. The president of BAUET Computer Society and Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department Professor Mohammad Golam Sarwar Bhuiya; CSE Department Associate Professor Mosammat Asma Yasmin; EEE Department Head Associate Professor Dr. Md. Rubel Bashar; Head of English Department Assistant Professor Md. Ataul Karim, Deputy Registrar (Academic) Md. Ashraful Islam, Vice President of the Club Brishti Rani Roy and Assistant Network Engineer Palash Chandra Pal were present at the event.
A total of 274 students participated in 3 events (Programming Contest 60 teams 170; Idea Contest 29 teams 76; Gaming Contest 28) on the opening day. Besides, a workshop titled ‘Monetize Your Apps and Ideas in BD Apps—National Apps Store’ was held in collaboration with Robi BD Apps. Computer Society President Prof. Mohammad Golam Sarwar Bhuiya gave a welcome speech at the beginning of the workshop moderated by CSE student Zurafa Hisan Sharif. BD Apps Rajshahi- Rangpur Regional Operations Lead, Mahir Asef conducted the workshop as a resource person. Through this workshop, students got an opportunity to learn various ways and techniques about how to earn money using their apps.
