One of the leading digital company Robi Axiata Limited has come up with an e-learning platform called ‘HatayKolome’ (Hands-on) to train technical, professional and life skills for the general public. Anybody can get the e-learning facilities being connected in the YouTube Channel, Facebook Page and web address of ‘HatayKolome’. The platform aims to bring revolutionary changes in e-learning sector.
The official launch of this e-learning platform ‘HatayKolome’ started on Tuesday (December 12) at the Lakeshore Hotel in Gulshan.
The launching event conveyed that there is a lack of efficient and organized online availability of work-oriented skill-based learning content through online medium. Robi has taken up the new project to create opportunities in this space. It is designed to bridge the digital divide of skill-based learning content, the project’s carefully designed platform will provide hands-on learning opportunities to students.
This platform is designed to provide citizens with access to a wide range of skill-based learning, insight into various businesses and knowledge related to lifestyle and lifeskills. This corporate social responsibility initiative has been taken to instill confidence in the people of the country in line with Robi’s brand slogan ‘Parbe Tumiyo’ (You too can do).
In the first phase, the ‘HatayKolome’ project is being launched with two full courses. These are mobile repair and care giving. Housekeeping, graphic design, plumbing and pipe fitting, electrician, sewing machine operation and welding will also be added soon.
In the next phase training for expatriates, training for sports, training for farmers and training for fishing and livestock will be started.
About the inauguration of this program, Robi’s Chief Commercial Officer Shihab Ahmad said that, there is a lack of specific skill-based human resources in the labor market even though there is a lot of pressure on students to pursue higher education. This not only stunts the socio-economic growth of the country, but also prevents migrant workers from bringing maximum remittances or expatriate income to the country. The aim of ‘HatayKolome’ is to bridge this gap. At Robi, ‘Parbe Thumiyo’- you too can do, is not merely a slogan, we are committed to empowering every citizen to build self-confidence.
Tamim Iqbal, Robi’s brand ambassador, said that there is no substitute for training to advance in all fields including batting, bowling or fielding. This initiative of online hands-on training by the leading innovative brand Robi is commendable.
He said, “I strongly believe that the youth will find their purpose on this platform which will show them a path to self-realization and therein lies the significance of Robi’s brand slogan- ‘Parbe Tumiyo’.”
In addition, the Curator of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum and former Education Secretary Md. Nazrul Islam Khan, Rabi’s Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer Saheed Alam and senior officials were present.
