Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called the film makers to use modern technology to make world class films that are appreciated. She made this call while addressing as the chief guest at the National Film Awards 2022 award distribution ceremony. In 27 categories the awards were distributed at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center on Tuesday evening.
Addressing the makers and producers, the Prime Minister said, I want you to take steps to make world-class films using modern information technology. I would request the directors, artists, producers and all concerned to make films that will be appreciated beyond the borders.
“Once, there were cinema halls in every village. There was an opportunity to entertain people. Gradually they are closed, especially during the COVID19 pandemic. I personally met with the owners. How our cinema halls can be opened again; can be equipped with modern technology”, added the Prime Minister.
At this time, Sheikh Hasina also mentioned that her government is constructing a world-class modern FDC complex.
Minister of Information and Broadcasting Dr. Hasan Mahmud presided over the event while the Information Secretary Md. Humayun Kabir Khandkar delivered a welcome speech. Hasanul Haque Inu, President of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Information, spoke as a special guest.
On October 31, the Ministry of Information announced the list of National Film Award winners. In recognition of their glorious and extraordinary contribution to the film industry, 27 eminent artists and crews have received National Film Awards this year.
