The ‘Online Nomination Submission System (ONSS) and Smart Election Management App’ will be officially inaugurated on Sunday (November 12) before the announcement of the upcoming 12th Parliament election schedule. However, although it is initially for internal use, the Election Commission (EC) will make it open to all after the announcement of the schedule.
Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd.) Ahsan Habib Khan while briefing on this matter recently informed that a voter can know his voter number sitting at home through Smart Election Management BD Apps. Also can know his voter area, constituencies, polling station name and see the photo of polling station, geographical location of polling station (with map).
Apart from this, there will be details of the constituency-wise seats, such as: Total Voters, Total Seats, Candidates for the Seats, Details of Candidates (Affidavit, Income Tax Information, Election Expenditure and Personal Asset Statement). Also information about registered political parties will be known and contemporary information will be displayed in the form of notices.
On the other hand, with the help of the app, the information about the ongoing voting process and the number of votes will be known every two hours. A voter will also get a graphical description of the results of the previous election and the current election through options called the overall status of the election results, such as counting and analysis of results.
The Election Commission hopes that the candidates will also be aware of their activities due to the free flow of information through this app to the grassroots level. All in all, Commissioner Ahsan Habib Khan hopes that election management will be easier and more credible.
