Since after the implementation of Digital Bangladesh, Internet will be one of its vehicles to implement Smart Bangladesh, Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (IASPAB) President Imdadul Hoque wants to reflect their expectations in the new budget for the expansion of this Internet services. In an interview, he talked about various aspects of the IT sector in the upcoming budget.
The ISPAB President said that 3 point proposal has been given to the Board of Revenue by the organization. He said, we have not received any concession for a long time. So this time discount will be given in the upcoming budget. Internet service will be included in ITES service. If the government accepts our demand and withdraws the tax levied on ONUs and OLTs imported from abroad without levying new VAT-tax, the number of broadband subscribers will double. 2 percent growth will come from internet sector in GDP.
