After ChatGPT’s technology was added to the new version of Bing, the search engine surpassed 100 million daily users. This information was given by Yusuf Mehdi, Vice President of Microsoft’s ‘Modern Life, Search and Devices’ department.
Microsoft credits two factors behind this achievement. The first is the increased use of the Edge browser. Another reason is the addition of an AI model named ‘Prometheus’ to Bing’s search engine. Adding this AI model, more relevant answers are showed in search engine results. Also, the popularity of this search engine has reached a new level since the launch of Bing’s AI chatbot in the mobile version. The number of daily active users has also increased by six times.
However, a user can ask the Bing chatbot a maximum of 5 questions at a time and a total of 50 questions per day.
The owners of Facebook do not stop in such transition of Microsoft. Meta is launching a text-based platform to rival Twitter. This new platform will have a lot in common with Twitter’s rival micro-blogging site Mastdon.
A Meta spokesperson told tech website Mashable that they are currently working on a text-only social media platform. The new text-based platform will be integrated with Instagram. In this way, until now, you could log in to that platform with the login information on Instagram. But according to the new information, Meta’s new platform is going to be a completely independent platform. The development of this platform code named ‘P92’ is in progress. But when it will be unveiled, nothing is known yet.
Google also have news like Microsoft and Meta. The feature of translation from images is now being added to the web version of Google Translate. Google Lens OCR technology is also used here.
According to a report by technology website Android Police, when you visit the Google Translate website from Chrome or any other browser, you will see an ‘Image’ button in the upper left corner. Earlier there were only text, documents and website options. After selecting the option, any image on the computer will be written as normal text after uploading. In the web interface, users can download the translated image or just copy the text.
Currently, this feature can be used in 113 source languages and 133 destination languages. The text ‘Lens Translate’ will appear below the translation results.
