The world’s popular social media has focused on short videos, following the success of TikTok. Facebook’s owner Meta also launched a short video feature called ‘Reels’ on their Facebook and Instagram quite a while ago. Meta extended the duration of short videos to survive the competition. According to the news, the time limit has been increased from the previous 60 seconds to 90 seconds. Meta expects users to turn to more reels as the duration increases. In the meantime they have also made monetization feature for Reels videos. As a result, content creators can earn from short videos as well.
Apart from increasing the duration of reels, Meta has also added a new feature called ‘grooves’ to extend the duration of the videos, where the motion of the video will automatically align with the beat of the song. Moreover, Facebook users can create new reels from previous videos using trending templates.
