The four-day BASIS Soft Expo ends today (Sunday). In the closing session of the fair in the evening, it was revealed that although it was held in Purbachal, far from the capital city, the business potential of the fair was more than the number of visitors. Demand letters worth Tk. 120 crore were received from 204 stalls that participated in the fair in four days.
This was informed by the BASIS President Russell T Ahmed while delivering the welcome speech of the closing ceremony.
He said that BASIS will be the biggest partner in the implementation of Smart Bangladesh. With that hope, we have made this the biggest fair in the country in the face of so many adversities. Over the past four days, we have discussed increasing export earnings and reducing import costs. We have analyzed that if we can build skilled manpower in R&D, industry promotion and demand generation in local and international markets, export earnings of $20 billion can be achieved by 2030. After visiting 204 stalls and pavilions yesterday and today, I came to know that demand letters of Tk. 120 crore have been received.
Prime Minister’s Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman was present as the chief guest on the occasion while Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology was present as the special guest.
