Professor Dr. Muhammad Mahfuzul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, Bangladesh, said that if we want to survive in this era of the fifth industrial revolution- 5IR, we must acquire programming or coding knowledge. It is impossible to survive in the fifth industrial revolution without programming or coding knowledge.
The Vice-Chancellor opined so at a round table meeting titled Prospects of Data Science organized by Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) at Purbachal Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in the capital on Friday afternoon.
The vice chancellor said that data science, artificial intelligence or cyber security is not possible without programming. All of these guide the programming.
He said, the fourth industrial revolution invented technology and the fifth industrial revolution is in front of us so that people can easily use the technologies of the fourth industrial revolution with humanity.
Professor Dr. Muhammad Mahfuzul Islam said, in Bangladesh we have not yet been able to create global big data. We are still hostage to Google, YouTube, Facebook etc. We need to start making big data as soon as possible and we need to do it now.
The former Director and President of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) Habibullah N Karim moderated the round table meeting, while the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Data Scientist and Innovation Specialist MA Bari presented the keynote speech.
Fahim Mashroor, former president of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), M Manzoor Mahmood, president of Data Soft Systems, Shahzada Redwan, director and CTO of SSL Wireless and many others were also present as speakers.
