When the discussion on the concept of ‘Flip Class’ is on the rise in the world; Ten Minute School started that innovation seven years ago. In continuation of this, ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the online batch of sixth to tenth class of this school on Tuesday at the conference center of the ICT Division. The state minister inaugurated this batch from iPad after Android.
He was accompanied by Sonia Bashir Kabir, co-founder of fin-tech startup D-Money and Sami Ahmed, managing director of Startup Bangladesh and members of the management team of TenMinute School.
While speaking as the chief guest at the opening ceremony, Palak opined that this initiative of Ten Minute School will act as a ‘domino effect’ in reducing ‘disparity of opportunities’. Through this initiative, three and a half crore secondary school students of the country will be able to learn school lessons with joy, he said.
The state minister said that we have to fulfill the responsibility of making today’s generation smart citizens to build a smart Bangladesh in the future. For that purpose, we will have an education festival in Chalonbil from 22nd January where we will conduct a Maths, English and Programming camp. We want to replicate this same model across the country. For this, I will use the School of Future in 300 parliamentary seats. Students will be given AR books there. According to Bangabandhu’s dream, I want to use technology and ten minute school platform to break the disparity of education between villages and cities to create golden people, smart people.
He also said that on the day of the inauguration of the Metrorail, my leader Joy Bhai gave three instructions – to focus on research and innovation. Every educational institution has been asked to focus on research and innovation. So I request Tenminute School to focus on research and innovation focus content beyond daily life routine or education to build an innovative nation. So that everyone can sit in their village and do research on a subject. He gets tools and materials from TenMinute School.
Also, the government is giving importance to the development of soft skills and soft solutions in order to reduce the cost of infrastructure. Besides, he urged entrepreneurs to create one million programmers by 2025 from among the students from sixth to twelfth by introducing coding and programming courses.
Ayman Sadiq, Co-Founder of Ten Minute School while giving an idea about the Ten Minute School online batch, said that this time the live class was taken before the HSC exam where 21 thousand students participated live. 1.2 lakh students watched the class by 12 pm. It crossed 18 lakh till the exam. But there were 13 lakh candidates. Also, one class has more than one lakh comments. And in the last year more than 10 thousand live classes have been attended by crores of students.
