By 2041, the citizens of Bangladesh will be technologically smart. Bangladesh will be Smart Bangladesh. The citizens of this country will not lag behind in anything from the world. There will be technological know-how throughout the country including villages.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her vision while inaugurating the free textbook distribution program among primary and secondary level students at the Prime Minister’s office on Saturday.
Deputy Minister of Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury delivered his welcome address in the program. The Program was presided over by Minister of Education Dr. Dipu Moni. At this time, State Minister of Primary and Mass Education spoke as a special guest Md. Zakir Hossain.
While speaking as the Chief Guest, the Prime Minister said that our education and learning such as e-education, e-health, e-business, e-economy, e-governance will be based on technical knowledge. Every child is learning computer technology from now on and will continue to do so. Our entire population will be tech smart. Nothing will be left behind from the world. Of course we can.
“Government is taking measures for this” added the Prime Minister.
Sheikh Hasina said, Bangabandhu Satellite-1 has been launched. Next will be Satellite-2. We will do that too. We’ll take the technology to make broadband online work everywhere, from islands via submarine cables. At once technology knowledge will be completed up to the village level. We are also making that arrangement.
The Prime Minister said that due to the corona irus and the Ukraine-Russia war, the government imposed austerity in many ways to save people’s money, but did not compromise on printing textbooks for children. On the other hand, we are saving the cost of printing their books. We have given special attention to book printing. Besides, I am giving importance to computer education i.e. technology education. The world is moving forward, why shall our children be left behind?
Highlighting various initiatives of the government to continue the education of students during the corona virus, Sheikh Hasina said, during the pandemic, my school had been in my house, that is, now digital Bangladesh is facilitating to study at home. Measures have been taken so that no one can cheat in studies. Education programs have been conducted across the country through Sangsad TV. It has also been run through BTV. I think Sangsad TV can always be used by Ministry of Education.
At this time, the Prime Minister announced plans to launch a separate TV channel for education. She said that if the children of the country can be raised with sincerity, no force in the world can stop the development and progress of the country.
Sheikh Hasina said that in the 2008 elections, people voted for ‘boat’, we formed the government again. Since then we again aim, how can we make the people of this country free from illiteracy and since 2010 we have started distributing free books. Not only that, we have set up technical training centers in every Upazila. We have set up Hi-Tech City, Hi-Tech Park and Software Technology Park. Madrasah education has also been given the status of master’s degree in Dawarae Hadith.
At this time, the Prime Minister advised the students to keep themselves healthy this winter and prevent dengue by keeping their homes and surroundings clean.
