About 90 percent of the cases are being solved as a result of the use of technology in the investigation work of the police from relying on sources, stated the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun,
The IGP conveyed this information at the 39th Annual General Meeting of the Retired Police Officers Welfare Association (BRPOWA) at the Rajarbagh police auditorium in the capital on Saturday (December 24), he said, “At one time the police investigation was based on sources.” And now, as a result of the use of information technology, about 90 percent of the cases are being solved. There has been a massive movement in police activities.”
While speaking as the Chief Guest at the meeting, the IGP said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, along with the development of the country, Bangladesh Police has also made great progress.
At this time, IGP praised the association’s various social service activities, especially the initiative to spread the light of education among the boys.
In the meeting, five senior members of the association were presented with honorary crests. Three serving police officers were awarded the SM Ahsan Smriti Award for their special contribution to community policing and social service activities. In addition, a woman police officer Professor was awarded the Enamul Haque-Lilly award for her special contribution to the victim support program for the protection of women and children who were victims of torture.
Apart from this, the late Mohiuddin Ahmad Chowdhury-M Sahidul Islam Chowdhury Education Scholarship organized by the association for 42 meritorious students among the children of police families who obtained good results in the SSC examination and 14 meritorious students who obtained good results in the HSC examination were awarded by the association’s MN Bhakta-Shipra Bhakta Education Fund and KC Mallick-Maya. Scholarships are awarded from Education Fund.
