There was no way to see how many times a user’s tweet was viewed by others. However, Twitter is going to launch a view counter to give an opportunity to see it. The announcement was made by Elon Musk, the head of the platform.
This new facility will allow the ‘view count’ of tweets to be displayed on iOS and Android operating systems. It has been announced that the web version will be launched soon.
According to the news, users will now be able to see ‘View Counter’ next to the ‘Comment’, ‘Retweet’ and ‘Like’ options of the tweet. However, ‘community tweets’, ‘Twitter circle’ tweets and ‘relatively old’ tweets will not get this benefit.
Anytime a user’s tweet is seen on someone’s screen (even their own) on the platform, it counts as a ‘view’.
