Chattogram City Mayor valiant freedom fighter Md. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said, “About 51 percent of the country’s population is women. Women engineers must play a role to advance the society. Sheikh Hasina has contributed the most to the development of women’s education and women’s empowerment after independence. When the World Bank withdrew from the financing of the Padma Bridge, the construction of the Padma Bridge with its own funding was possible in just 8 years due to the strong leadership. Ever since she took charge in 2008, she has taken Bangladesh to unique heights due to his integrity and patriotism.” He also said, “During the Liberation War, we used to come from the city to the then Engineering College (now CUET) at night to prepare and plan the war. From there we conducted expeditions to various places including Kaptai. The holy blood of the martyrs was shed during the Liberation War in this CUET campus as well. Students of CUET have also sacrificed their lives for the country.”
