Students from 5th to 9th grade of DPS STS School Dhaka got an opportunity to display knowledge and innovation in subjects like science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Seniors of the school presented their innovative ideas in front of more than 2000 visitors at the campus.
This is the first STEM carnival organized by the students of the senior section of DPS STS School. There were several fun games and entertainment programs for the guests at the carnival including the gaming facilities of South Asia’s largest virtual reality theme park – Toggy Fun World. Proceeds from the entertainment were later donated to a former student suffering from a critical medical condition.
Regarding the carnival, the Principal of DPS STS School Dhaka Dr. Sivananda CS said, “STEM Carnival is not only an opportunity to impart STEM education; rather, it will also play a role in increasing teamwork, social responsibility and accountability. Although this is our first ever STEM Carnival, I am delighted to see the fascinating projects of our young scientists. I am proud of our senior students for organizing such an interesting event. I wish the organizers and participants all the best for the future.”
In recent years, DPS STS schools have been working to effectively spread STEAM education at the school-level. STEM education plays an effective role in making students interested in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics education and building confidence in communication skills.
