Team Atlas, a team of young inventors from Bangladesh, won the gold medal at the International Science and Innovation Fair (ISIF) 2022 held in Bali, Indonesia. A total of 614 teams from 32 countries participated in the competition.
The team won the award on Friday by showing a brilliant robotic solution to agricultural technology, organized by the Indonesian Young Scientists Association and other renowned institutions. This fair which started from November 1 will end today on November 5.
Team Atlas participated in the competition under the leadership of BRAC University’s Sunny Jubayer, who raised the red-green flag in the world again with the project ‘FREMO-A Farming Robot’ in the innovative technology section of the fair.
Other members of this team are Mir Tanjid Ahmed from BRAC University, Mir Sajid Hasan and Mahtab Newaz from North South University, Md. Khandaker Maruf Bin Islam of BUET, Fahim Shahriar from Dhaka University, Md Tanzir Arafat from BAF Shaheen College and Jannatul Ferdous Fabin from BRAC University.
Team Atlas has been working on various robotics projects for the past few years. The team has previously participated in various international robotics competitions for Bangladesh. Team Atlas representing Bangladesh won the 13th place in the Robo Race segment at the World Robotics Championship held in New Delhi in November last year.
Earlier, the team won first place in International Robot Olympiad, first place in Maxelation competition, champion in Technival 2018 organized by Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) and champion in National Robotic Festival 2017. Team Atlas has gained international recognition by winning awards in domestic and international robot Olympiads.
