Japanese automobile company Toyota unveiled India’s first flex-fuel vehicle on an experimental basis. The name of the car is Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid.
Toyota introduced the car under an experimental project. The main objective of which is to test the efficiency of the Strong Hybrid Flex Fuel Electric vehicle in the Indian environment. Being a flex-fuel engine, it can run on a mixture of petrol and ethanol or on either fuel.
It goes without saying that the widespread use of such vehicles will reduce the dependence on petrol and diesel. The car is powered by a 1.8 liter ethanol fueled petrol hybrid engine.
Meanwhile, ethanol is well-known as an environmentally friendly fuel. Therefore, if its use increases, the level of pollution in the environment will decrease as well as the fuel consumption of the vehicle will decrease. Which can run on 100% petrol and 20-100% ethanol and petrol mixture. It can even run on electricity.
Ethanol is one of the alternative fuels in the world. Ethanol-powered flex-fuel engines are already widely available in the Brazilian market.
