The State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the mobile app and game testing lab at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) at Mirpur in the afternoon. Meanwhile, BUBT VC Fayyaz Khan, pro VC professor Dr. Md. Ali Noor, BUBT Trust advisor professor Md. Abu Saleh, A F M Sawar Kamal, former Trustee Board chairman Dr. Shafiq Ahmed Siddiqui, Distinguished Professor of BEAC university Dr. Muhammad Kaykobad and others were present.
The lab has 10 specialized PCs under the supervision of CSE department of the university. Teachers and students of this university have already developed three apps using this PC. Two of its apps are for university use. The rest of the app is for everyone.
After the ribbon-cutting and inauguration of the lab, these apps were discussed in front of the ICT State Minister. Among the apps, ‘Smart Darji’ app is based on virtual reality and augmented reality. Using this, any one can give measurements to a tailor to make his own clothes in the comfort living of his home. Students can pay university tuition fees through another app on their own made ‘BUBT Ethics’. It is hoped that the app will play a role in developing a cashless smart campus app. Meanwhile, it will be possible to know about the result of which university, their position, etc. through the result aggregator app developed by the BUBT team.
So far, 8 game testing centers and 32 mobile app and game testing labs have been set up across the country under the mobile game project.
Besides, more than 30 Android apps and web applications including 100 mobile games related to child health and education have been developed. Digital Rajshahi City Corporation; Corona Tracer BD during Corona; ‘Bhasa Guru’ mobile app for language learning; BSTI’s product checking app; Ai based management app to find solutions to various diseases of paddy; Airport Digitization App Mobile App Web Application of Prime Minister’s Office Asharyan Project; Eco Tourism App for Forest Department; Zakat management app development for collection of zakat from all over the country has been completed.
Meanwhile, A Citizen Help Desk regarding the information on government services; Digital Cash Book; ICT Act; ICT Rules; Children’s Education App; The app named PPR 2008 for government procurement has been uploaded to Google Play Store.
On the other hand, the production of the animation release of Mujib Aam Pita written by the Prime Minister has been completed. A 10-episode animation movie ‘Khoka’ on Bangabandhu is underway; An animated 3D movie ‘Rasel Sona’ based on Sheikh Russell’s biography and another one on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman named ‘Mujib Bhai’ is under development.
