VinFast has started offering electric Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) in the markets. Initially, the first batch of 100 SUVs has been supplied to the market. The Vietnamese company said that it will start supplying cars to the United States in December. News Nikkei Asia.
VinFast, which started operations in 2019, hopes to compete in the country’s market with the VF8 and VF9 SUVs. Le Thi Thu Thuy, the company’s global chief executive, said the 5,000 VF8s would be for the US and North American markets. Production will begin on a large scale from next week.
VinFast, a subsidiary of Vietnam’s largest conglomerate VinGroup, will start supplying cars outside the country next November. Customers will start receiving the car in December. The company has received orders for around 65,000 units of vehicles worldwide. VinFast hopes to sell 750,000 electric vehicles annually by 2026 after the launch of the VF8 and VF9 SUVs.
