The regional round of ‘BDApps National Hackathon 2022’, a mobile application competition organized by Bangladesh’s National Appstore BDApps, has started. The third regional hackathon was held at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology- SUST. The selected teams of Sylhet division participated in it. Out of this, the best 6 teams are selected to represent Sylhet in the National Gala Round. The teams are – Just Origin, Pritilata, Phantom Ten, Deprecated Engineers, Moonshot and Lingrise.
The SWE Society of the Software Engineering Department of the University worked as an organizing partner in the Sylhet phase of the hackathon (August 27). A total of 61 teams participated in this phase of the hackathon.

Shahjalal University of Science and Technology IICT Department Director and SWE Society Club President Professor Dr. M. The top ten teams in the final stage of this national round hackathon will get a total prize of five lakh taka, of which the champion team will get two lakh taka.
BDApps, an initiative of Robi Axiata Ltd. has been recognized as the National Appstore of Bangladesh by the ICT Department. It was recently awarded the Bangladesh Innovation Award in the category of Best Innovation in Community Engagement. BDApps received an honorable mention in the category of Best Innovation in SDG Incorporation. The platform currently has 30,000 developers who have created more than 50,000 applications.
