On the occasion of the 73rd birth anniversary celebrations of the valiant freedom fighter Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Information and Communication Technology Division organized a discussion meeting and special prayers on August 05. NM Zeaul Alam, Senior Secretary, ICT Division presided over the discussion and prayer program held in the afternoon on the initiative of Bangladesh Carrom Federation at the Bangladesh Computer Council Auditorium in Agargaon to distribute carrom boards among the members of Parliament. After a minute of silence, Imam Hafez Qari Imdadul Haque of Technical Education Board started the program by reciting Surah Al Muminun, verse 67 from the Holy Quran. After that, a documentary on the realization of the Digital Bangladesh dream was presented under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Speaking online as the Chief Guest, the State Minister for ICT said that Captain Kamal was a modern-minded-cultural personality. In the post-independence period, he established Spandan Shilpagoshti, where he introduced the use of modern instruments and fusion in Bengali songs, just as he established the Abahani Krira Chakra to make the youth modern and cultural-minded.
Thus, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, the State Minister for ICT emphasized on the spread of healthy sports and entertainment to show the work and life of Sheikh Kamal to everyone. Meanwhile, Palak highlighted the development of life-oriented technical knowledge and soft skills that are in demand in the world.
For this, Palak mentioned setting up one Sheikh Kamal IT training center in every Hi-tech Park of the country and building one business incubation center in every university of the country.
Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Managing Director of Hi-tech Park Authority, called martyred Captain Sheikh Kamal ‘the pioneer of pure youth’ in his welcome speech and said that due to his qualities, he is considered as the greatest sports organizer of all time. As a tribute to him, Sheikh Kamal IT Training Center is being built in every Hi-tech Park. Business incubation center is being set up in universities. From where, thousands of Sheikh Kamals will come out.
AKM Samsuddoha, Chairman of IGW Operators Forum, the chief discussant of the program presented various unspoken chapters of Bangabandhu, Bangladesh and Sheikh Kamal. His strong personality and fine sense of life in the rare portraits and memories of history was portrayed. This fellow of Sheikh Kamal said, he was an all-round-classically-strong person. He is beyond criticism.
In the President’s speech, NM Ziaul Alam, Secretary, ICT Division said that the ideals and contributions of Sheikh Kamals should be practiced by the new generation. He will be remembered through our actions.
