The awardees are in Television/Radio Category: (Television Category) Sheikh Raqibullah Hasan, Senior Reporter, Ekattor Television; Kumar Biswajit Roy, Senior Reporter Bangladesh Television; Mursaleen Haque Junaid, Staff Reporter, Channel 24 and Shihab Hossain, Staff Reporter, Banglavision.
In the newspaper and online category: Ummul Wara Sweety, Chief Correspondent, Dainik Desh Rupantar; Sameer Kumar De Mondal, Senior Reporter, Daily Ittefaq; Syed Eltefat Hossain, Staff Reporter, Bangladesh News Agency (BASS); Abu Saleh Sa’adat, Senior Reporter, Dhaka Post; Rashed Mehdi, Special Correspondent, Daily Samakal were awarded.
After evaluating the reports of 300 reporters, this award has been given.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak handed over the prizes to the winners at the capital’s Tourism Building on Saturday evening.
Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Zahid Tushar delivered a welcome speech at the prize distribution ceremony while the ceremony was presided over by the ICT Division Senior Secretary NM Zeaul Alam. Jewel Ahsan Pintu, editor of DBC News also spoke among others.
While speaking as the chief guest, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for ICT said, step by step we have implemented the Digital Bangladesh. By 2025, high-speed Internet will be available in homes. There will be one internet cafe in every village.
The State Minister announced to include the journalists of Bangladesh in digital leadership training, so that they can lead the world in the fourth industrial revolution.
Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority delivered his welcome speech on the ocassion.
