This was stated by the Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Mostafa Jabbar at the closing ceremony of a three-day scratch programming camp for primary school teachers.
The Minister exchanged views with the participating teachers of 21 primary schools at the concluding ceremony of the third day of coding teacher training program on primary education jointly organized by EMK Center and Bangladesh Open Source Network at Lalmatia Apon Udyog Foundation on Saturday (July 4) afternoon.
The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications thanked the teachers for participating in such an initiative on scratch programming. At the same time, he said that by formulating this training program, you will create a method of teaching programming in such a way that the fear of programming of the students will to be removed from the beginning. As they grow older, they can solve complex software problems.
Prominent writers and academics Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal was present at the event. He said that the main solution of everything is hidden in education. Whenever there is a problem, I say, spread education everywhere. This will be the solution. This is what you are doing for the living of the students. He said this while handing over the certificates to the participating teachers.
National Curriculum and Textbook Board Primary Curriculum Committee member Prof. AKM Reazul Hasan was present there. According to the new curriculum, scratch programming has been added in primary education from third grade to fifth grade, he said. The new curriculum has changed the evaluation of the examination system. Emphasis has also been placed on continuous evaluation. He also exchanged views with teachers on teaching.

Israt Jahan, a teacher at Banglabazar Government Primary School, said students may be intimidated by the word programming or coding. Elementary students can be taught programming through playing.

Over the next four months, the participating teachers will return to their schools to teach scratch programming to the students. The method of teaching scratch programming to primary school students will be refined through teaching. Later, a camp will be re-organized with the help of these teachers. Which will create a model for teaching scratch programming in primary school.
