The National Science and Technology Museum has set up an exceptional stall with various information and materials on science and technology at this year’s Amar Ekushey Book Fair. Visitors, especially students, are getting free books here. The museum authorityt has provided thousands of free books and pamphlets based on science and technology to the students and visitors at the book fair from February 22-28.
These books contain articles based on science and technology written by young scientists of the country and a collection of popular science lectures. There was a report on the annual activities of the Science Museum as well.
Besides, the Science Museum is organizing daily science quiz contests with the students attending the book fair. The winners of the contests are being given pens, diaries and calendars as gifts by the museum.
In this regard, Director General of National Museum of Science and Technology Mohammad Munir Chowdhury said, “Science Museum wants to create a new atmosphere in the book fair. Books and gift items are being given with the aim of creating science consciousness among the young generation by breaking out of the conventional trend. Books are a treasure trove of knowledge. Books can never be a salable product. Because knowledge is not a commodity. That’s why the Science Museum is giving away free books.”
