Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and Microsoft are supporting two startups in Bangladesh. This support is being provided to expand the new solutions of the two startups and increase the effectiveness of their business models. Startups focus on two social influences and sustainability.
The project, a partnership called Project Amplify, is helping to accelerate the growth of 33 startups across the Asia-Pacific region. The initiative expands its operations in 2020 by welcoming business ventures in South Asia from Singapore, Australia, Japan, Sri Lanka and many more. The initiative works with the long-term goal of accelerating the potential of Asia and improving the lives of millions of people worldwide, including in the region, by addressing various social challenges.
The purpose-dependent startup projects from Bangladesh participating in Amplify include: Niramoy Health and Prava Health. Both startups have demonstrated how their products, services and activities are able to address important social and environmental issues.
Through Project Amplify, both startups will have access to the latest technology as well as advice and support from both Accenture and Microsoft. In order for Niramoy Health and Prava Health to be able to implement and expand the impact and social benefits of their solutions, Microsoft and Accenture will help startups to test and validate the test-proof-of-concept.
In this regard, Sanjay Poddar, Managing Director of Accenture and Lead for Technology Sustainability Innovation, said, We can help bridge this gap by using the technical expertise and network of both Accenture and Microsoft. As these social initiatives expand their reach, we expect to see significant changes in the lives of disadvantaged people in our community; Because these people need sustainability, healthcare, education and agricultural support.”
Microsoft Bangladesh Country Managing Director Md. Yusuf Farooq said, “At Microsoft, we work to empower organizations and individuals to achieve more through co-innovation and trustworthy partnerships. Social initiatives under Project Amplify work with priority to address these issues. We are honored to be able to support these technologies, skills and ecosystems in expanding these initiatives so that they can make a meaningful difference in society. The partnership with Accenture will help make the lifelong dream of targeted business ventures a reality and bring about greater positive change in the lives of millions of people.”
Accenture will focus on providing technical support to startups in tackling complex environmental and social challenges and advancing the organization’s sustainable goals. On the other hand, Microsoft’s involvement in Project Amplify is part of the organization’s Global Social Entrepreneurship Program. This program is designed to support social enterprises in working for the welfare of all globally. The Global Social Entrepreneurship Program helps to create technology, education, customer and grant-related opportunities for potential startups.
