Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Mostafa Jabbar has called upon all concerned, including teachers, to take the lead in making the students of the country talented and creative. He said that it would be difficult for the students to survive in the digital age if they could not develop their skills in digital technology through proper education.
The Minister was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of a month-long program organized by IUBAT on the occasion of 31st founding anniversary of IUBAT, a private university in Dhaka on Sunday.
The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications said that if we do not build our huge population as human resources, it will be a difficult crisis for us. We have to bear the responsibility of this crisis. Mostafa Jabbar, a pioneer in the development of digital technology, said that it is possible to get rid of this responsibility through digital transformation of education.
Mentioning that the people of this land have not been able to take part in any of the past industrial revolutions in the transformation of civilization, the Minister said that the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman stood on the ruins of war and undertook various landmark programs including nationalization of primary education, expansion of technical education and waiver of land rent up to 25 bighas. He embarked on the journey of Bangladesh to take part in the Third Industrial Revolution by gaining membership of IoT and UPU, formation of T&T Board and establishment of satellite ground station at Betbunia. In the last 13 years since 2009, Bangladesh has made unimaginable progress in every indicator of development through the digital industrial revolution, said the unparalleled pioneer of digital transformation in education.
He said that on December 12, Bangladesh has entered the era of 5G technology. The Minister noted that this technology could be used extensively in fisheries and agriculture to bring about a wonderful transformation in agriculture as well as in the industrial sector.
The main article of the program highlighted the initiative of IUBAT to create a graduate in every village of the country. The Minister praised the initiative of Dr. Alim Ullah Mia describing the initiative of the establishment of a specialized educational institution like IUBAT as highly commendable.
