No obstacle can block the path of success if dreams, desires and efforts can be combined, said the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Dr. Hassan Mahmud and urged upon the students to be committed in this regard.
The minister made the call while addressing as the chief guest at the freshers reception program at UITS, a private university located at Nayanagar in Baridhara.
While speaking, he drew the attention of the university administration and students to the fact that no student in the university should show his wealth.
Referring to Microsoft founder Bill Gates, the Information Minister said that while studying computer science at the university, Bill Gates failed the exam twice in a row. He was also expelled from the university. Today that Bill Gates has changed the world through ICT, through computer technology, through information technology. So bad test results are also not an obstacle.
If you try to turn this failure into success in the future, success will come, said Dr. Hassan Mahmud. Praising the UITS management for allowing 30% students to study without pay, the minister emphasized the importance of not only teaching academically but also the university administration should take necessary measures in teaching ethics and humane qualities to the students.
University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees Sufi Muhammad Mizanur Rahman presided over the reception program while Dr. Muhammad Solaiman, the Vice Chancellor of the university; Ambassador of Turkey Mustafa Usman Turan, Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University SM Maksud Kamal and UITS Director Amir Hossain Sohail were present on the occasion.
