So far, BTCL have been providing various telecom services to mobile operators Teletalk, Grameenphone and Robi. This time mobile operator Banglalink has also added in the list. The operator has signed an agreement with BTCL to take this service on November 1.
BTCL Managing Director and Banglalink CEO signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations in the virtual presence of Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mostafa Jabbar.
Speaking as the chief guest at the signing ceremony, Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mostafa Jabbar said in the journey to transform Digital Bangladesh the country’s telecom sector’s achievements are now widely visible in water-land-space everywhere. Bangladesh has set an unimaginable example of its ability to keep the lives of the people of the country afloat during the Corona pandemic with the help of digital connectivity. The Minister appreciated the unique role of BTCL at this time.
Referring to the Prime Minister’s use of BTCL’s backbone to complete 152 video conferences flawlessly in a single day, the minister said the government and the people of the country expect much more from BTCL or Teletalk. The Minister noted that the digital advancement of Bangladesh is exemplary for the backward countries in the world which have missed three industrial revolutions like Bangladesh in the past. He also remarked that even those countries can learn from Bangladesh.
This was stated by Telecommunications Minister Mostafa Jabbar while addressing as the chief guest at the signing ceremony of telecommunication services agreement between BTCL and Banglalink Digital Communications at the BTCL conference room on November 1.
BTCL managing director Dr. Rafiqul Matin presided over the function. Secretary of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications Md. Afzal Hossain, Chairman of BTRC Shyam Sundar Sikder, Chairman and CEO of Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited Shahjahan Mahmood and Banglalink CEO Eric Oss spoke in the program.
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary for Posts and Telecommunications said that the BTCL Banglalink Agreement will play an important role in the progress of building a digital Bangladesh.
BTCL has been providing quality services in government institutions and the corporate sector, all mobile operators in the country through NTTN resource sharing, IIG bandwidth and data connectivity. Following this, an agreement was signed with Banglalink regarding all these services.
