Not just messaging, Google is making Gmail a communication hub. Citing The Verge, Engadget reports that Google is bringing a major workspace update soon. And in this update, calling facility will be available from Gmail mobile app.
When there is no one-to-one mail or no pre-arranged meeting, users are going to rush to call colleagues or others if they want. And if the user catches a call from a big screen device, a ‘chip’ will be sent to his computer.
Many people are staying home and working during the ongoing pandemic. In this situation, the technology giant is introducing the new feature as a hybrid version of Office Chat. But there is no reason to think that calls cannot be made from the Meet app.
In addition to calling benefits, Gmail is undergoing some major changes. Enterprise customers will be able to enjoy the new features from Wednesday. However, regular Gmail users will receive an update later.
