A barbaric grenade attack took place on August 21, 2004. The attack was committed as many believe was a plot for killing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. 24 leaders and activists, including Ivy Rahman were martyred in that attack. In memory of those martyred souls, a virtual discussion meeting and prayer mahfil was organized by Singra Upazila and Municipal Awami Juba League on Saturday, 21 August.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak, the State Minister for Information and Communication Technology attended the program virtually and commented that “As it has turned into digital Bangladesh, it is now possible to continue all the activities of the digital country even during the ongoing pandemic. Even today, we are holding digital meetings, this is how we want to keep working for the implementation of the Digital Bangladesh designed by the prime Minister.”
Palak said that as the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina could narrowly survive as many as 19 attacks, Bangabandhu’s unfinished golden Bangladesh is now being built.
Leaders and activists of Singra Upazila and Municipal Awami Juba League were present on the occasion.
