The Bangladesh Association of Call Centers and Outsourcing (BACCO), a BPO/ outsourcing industry trade body, provided training to its member BPOs to create awareness among fire member organizations to prevent fire accidents.
Faisal Ahmed, Director, Safety Awareness Foundation and Fire Safety Management Specialist, conducted the awareness workshop on August 8.
At the workshop, he elaborated on how to reduce the amount of damage in an immediate response without being disturbed during a natural or man-made fire accident.
Representatives from more than 40 BACCO member organizations participated in the workshop titled Safety and Fire Factor Within IT Sector.
Through training, they can also learn about the type of firefighting system in their organization, the steps required to protect workers and the use of various fire extinguishers.
Vice President Tanvir Ibrahim was present among the members of the BACCO Executive Committee.
He said, “Apart from natural calamities, fires cause huge loss of life and property. That is why we must always be vigilant in dealing with these disasters.”
Abu Dawood Khan, Director of BACCO, thanked all those who were present for the closing remarks and said, “Everyone must unite to prevent fire accidents through future awareness by applying the experience gained from this training.”
