State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak sacrificed a cow for the welfare of 7 members of Bangabandhu family. Jahangir Alam Shovon, General Manager, e-Cab has confirmed that the sacrificial activities had been completed on the day of Eid-ul-Azha and was distributed among the poor through Manabshesa, a concern of e-Cab.
He said the animal was sacrificed at Sadiq Agro near Mohammadpur embankment under the supervision of the Bangladesh Dairy Farm Association at around 1 pm. Hafeez Lutfur Rahman slaughtered the black and white cow. This sacrificial animal was dedicated in the name of Allah to seek welfare for the departed souls of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Begum Fazilatun Nesha Mujib, Sheikh Jamal, Sheikh Kamala and Sheikh Russell. Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana too were on the list of sacrificing the cow.
The e-Cab general manager further said that the beef from that sacrificial cow was distributed among the poor people in the Rayer Bazar market area around 4 pm. A cow donated by e-Cab President Shami Kaiser and a goat donated by Nasima Akter Nisha, Joint Secretary of E-Cab was also distributed.
The volunteers of Bloodman collaborated with e-Cab’s humanitarian project to deliver the meat of the sacrificial animals to hundreds of families. Ibrahim Khalil and Shahriar Hasan Jisan, founder of Bloodman, supervised the distribution activities. Mafruza Akhter has taken part in the distribution work from Manabsheba. The distribution team was led by Tahmid Morshed, Project Coordinator and Senior Volunteers of Bloodman, Omar Sajid, Abir Mahmood and Pappu.
Earlier, the state minister purchased the cow from ekshop through an escrow service on July 13, the day the national digital hat was inaugurated. On July 19, Cellar Farmida of ekShop sent the animal to Sadiq Agro. Then the representatives of e-Cab and Dairy Farm Association examined the animal and received it.
