State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has demanded that cybersecurity be strengthened as the digital activities of the power department increase.
The state minister made the demand while addressing virtually as the chief guest at the inaugural function of TOT (Trainer of Trainer) training on Integrated ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) in the power sector on Wednesday (July 7).
He said that strengthening the cybersecurity of the power department is the need of time. He further stressed the continuation of service facilitation activities. It is mandatory to use security gadgets while working, he added.
The state minister further said that all the activities of Digital Bangladesh should be digital. Implementing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) as a paperless office initiative is essential. Although the power department and its subordinate departments initially implemented four modules; all possible works will gradually come under ERP.
In this virtual event, among others, the power secretary Habibur Rahman, PDB Chairman Belayet Hossain, REB Chairman Major General Moin Uddin (Retd.), Power Cell Director General Mohammad Hossain, Techvision Limited Advisor Rahmat Ullah and Md. Dastagir were connected and expressed their views.
According to the program, Human Resource Management System, Fixed Asset Management System, Procurement System and Accounts and Finance System – these four modules are being implemented initially in the power sector. Almost all the information on the modules has already come live. It will finally be seen live by July 31 this year. TechVision, Microsoft, Technohaven and CSL – these four companies are working together as consultants.
