The administration led by former US President Donald Trump secretly seized the call records of journalists to know the source of the news and prevent the publication of secret news. After the Biden administration’s amended law, it came to the light that the then administration put pressure on TechGiant in the same way as it did in the case of journalists.
Apple spokesman Fred Sange said on Friday that the Trump administration had been keeping their mouths shut for so long. Apple was instructed that the information could not be disclosed in any way.
According to CNBC, a similar summons was sent to Microsoft.
According to The New York Times, the Trump administration forced technology company Apple to provide information on at least two Democrat members of the House Intelligence Committee in 2016 and 2017. The administration took information about Adam Schiff, the current chairman of the committee, and Eric Swalwell, a representative, as well as dozens of other people associated with the committee. One of them was also a minor. Apple then only gave ‘metadata’. It did not contain pictures or e-mail content.
However, referring to the metadata information, the report of the newspaper said that it is possible to know a lot about a person from the metadata. Suppose you know when, where and with whom a person has spoken and when you combine more information with it, the full picture often stands.
