Huawei is releasing HarmonyOS 2.0 on Wednesday. The selected devices will then have the opportunity to install new platforms in place of the existing EMUI based Android setup. That could soon be the case, as the My Huawei app has launched an early access registration page for using the new operating system. News GSM Arena.
Currently, the option is only available in China. Registration may also start in other countries of the world on Thursday. Those who are using the My Huawei app can keep an eye on the update screen as that’s where the registration button will appear.
Huawei will open the OS to a small range of users before expanding the operating system to a large range. And it will be checked whether there is any error from there.
Meanwhile, Huawei has faced a legal battle over the Chinese version of HarmonyOS, Hongmeng. As Huizu Kibei Technology already owns Hongmeng’s trademark; the Chinese State Intellectual Property Authority (CSIPA) has not accepted Hongmeng’s trademark registration application under Huawei. It is anticipated that Huawei and Huizu will come to an agreement and change the ownership of the trademark.
