Former US President Donald Trump has been banned from social media on Facebook and Instagram. The company’s ‘Oversight Board’ has upheld the ban on him.
The board said it would review the issue of banning Trump forever and provide a reasonable punishment. Which will also apply to the general public.
Facebook banned the former president after the attack made by his followers on Capitol Hill towards the end of Trump’s term in January. This is unprecedented in the case of any president.
The matter later went to Facebook’s 20-member Oversight Board for review, which has come to be known as ‘Facebook’s Supreme Court’. This decision came from that board.
