The Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has launched the Interactable Digital Transaction Platform (IDTP) to curb irregularities, costs and harassment in financial transactions. Mobile wallet development has already been added to this digital inter-transaction platform.
State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak expressed hope that every bank and financial transaction institution in the country would join the platform in a short time.
He expressed this optimism while addressing a conference on ‘Living No Micro-Agents Behind the Digital Era in Bangladesh’ held at Hotel Westin in the capital on Tuesday.
UNCDF Head of Corporation Delegation Maurizio Sian and UN Resident Representative in Bangladesh Sudipta Mukherjee were present as special guests at the conference.
Among others, Asadul Islam, Senior Secretary, Department of Financial Institutions, Ministry of Finance and KM Ali Azam, Secretary, Ministry of Industries spoke on the occasion.
Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, the state minister said the credit rating and scoring facility of IDTP would pave the way for lending to small traders.
He added that a partnership agreement between Sheba XYZ and Startup Bangladesh Company is going to be signed this month. Its digital ERP solution will provide unsecured loans to marginal small and medium businesses.
“We are expanding initiatives like MDDRM to ensure that Bangladesh does not lag behind in the age of digital economy, with the need for investment, monitoring our progress, development partners and investors,” Palak said.
He also mentioned that, in order to help build a solid foundation for Fourth Industrial Revolution we have formulated five national strategies for Bangladesh; the State Minister for ICT said that the National Strategy for Robotics, National Blockchain, National Internet of Things Strategy, National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence and Microprocessor Design Capabilities have been formulated in this regard.
