Representatives of the Cyber Bureau of the Nepal Police, Ministry of Home Affairs and TikTok discussed the issue earlier last week. Today’s decision is expected to come into effect after technical preparations are completed.
Earlier, the cabinet meeting on Thursday made it mandatory for social media platforms like Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), TikTok and YouTube to open liaison offices in Nepal.
