The first ‘DPI and AI for Zero Digital Divide’ International Conference concluded on Tuesday (October 31) with the participation of 64 speakers from 10 to 16 sessions over two days. While speaking as the chief guest at the conclusion of the conference held at the Rupashi Bangla Ballroom of the Hotel Intercontinental Dhaka, the Minister of Education Dr. Deepu Moni said that in the coming year, the education program is being made more dependent on technology. .
The minister said that there has been a revolution in digitalization of education under the able leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. We are creating smart citizens through the spread of technology in the education sector. Transitioning from traditional education to modern education. We have already adopted the Master Plan of Blended Education. Through this we are planning to develop personalized education system to ensure rich education. Meanwhile, the curriculum is designed in such a way that the students can solve the current problems themselves. In addition, the Prime Minister recently launched Naipunya App to make the education program more technology dependent. The Naipunya App has been developed to make learning and summative assessment record keeping, processing and reporting of students smart and easy as per National Curriculum 2022. Through this app, students, parents and teachers can know the status of students’ qualifications and skills in various subjects.
Calling for global support to ensure smart education by creating innovative initiatives through AI technology to implement future rich education, the Education Minister also said that we have met the sustainable development goals. Besides, I am emphasizing on developing smart solutions of artificial intelligence in the education sector. World leaders should come forward to build a world without digital discrimination and sustainable through the implementation of smart education system in the country and globally. We hope that in 2041, as Smart Bangladesh, we can contribute as a smarter country.
ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, through this international conference, the exchange of experience with IT professionals and experts from different countries will contribute to the growth, development and development of information technology interconnection. In the era of fourth industrial revolution, there is a need to implement Smart Bangladesh and build a non-discriminatory digital world through optimal use of DPI and artificial intelligence. We hope to add a new dimension to the country’s digital services through this arrangement. We’ve acquired best practices on how to make AI public. And so to sharpen our achievements and experience ‘DPI & AI for Zero Digital Divide’ will be organized every year.
6 sessions/seminars were held on the concluding day of the international conference on the best use of artificial intelligence (AI) in e-commerce sector, fintech, public service digitization, edutech, healthcare, green ecosystem development. The ICT state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak presided over the event. These sessions shed light on how AI can contribute to building a non-discriminatory and inclusive smart state and building a sustainable world. The panelists in the sessions elaborated on the importance of AI in the digital economy. Apart from this, various technology sharing, policy, cyber security and mutual cooperation and creation of platform to solve multilateral and global problems were discussed through the open platform.
In addition, the best use of artificial intelligence, policies and ethics, implementation and mutual cooperation were discussed with the aim of reducing digital inequality to zero and building a sustainable future smart world. The first session discussed the creation of AI-based smart solutions to expand the e-commerce sector in the country and globally. In the second session, speakers discussed how AI can revolutionize the fintech sector in building an inclusive and prosperous economy. The third session deals with devising personalized solutions to ensure smart citizen services. Speakers shed light on increasing international cooperation in using AI to make government management smarter.
The fourth session discussed about ensuring smart education by creating innovative initiatives through AI technology to implement rich education of the future. The fifth session discussed ensuring the implementation of smart and sustainable health systems through the use of artificial intelligence. The final session of the concluding day discussed ensuring the best use of artificial intelligence to improve the design of production, distribution and consumption of renewable energy to create a greener and sustainable world.
In this two-day conference, 14 sector-wise special sessions were held on building a smart Bangladesh and a smart world. Local and foreign experts participated in the sessions. With the rapid development of digital technology and increasing demand for technology-based services, digital public infrastructure has been discussed as a very important issue in recent times. At the same time, in the context of the fourth industrial revolution, the use of artificial intelligence technology in various fields has increased to a large extent. Various development agencies, including the United Nations, on the potential of DPI and AI in Bangladesh and globally, together with high-level representatives of the public and private sectors, sought to create an environment of international cooperation, as well as the transformation of DPI with digital accessibility, technological frameworks for responsible AI, data security and protection. The conference aims to ensure global coordination for zero digital divide. In the conference, experts discussed about bringing economic growth by reducing risks through construction of DPI system.
