Coming to the latter part of the year, the influential English magazine Time published a list of great innovations such as innovations of the year ranged from artificial intelligence in detecting fires, GPT-4, AI Pin, Dal-E3, Meta’s Seamless M4T and Dedron City-Wide Drones, in addition to Diaqua Invisible Solar Rooftile, Czinger 21C TransAstra Flytrap and Good Meat’s cultured chicken for artificial meat, Kraft Heinz’s lunchtime grilled cheese.
The ‘Alert California and Cal Fire AI Wildfire Detector’ on this list were developed under the University of California San Diego’s Public Safety Program. To that end, Cal Fire has trained AI to detect smoke and other early signs of fire in a feed from a network of more than 1,500 cameras installed in forest areas across the state. With that training, whenever the system spots something like smoke, it alerts the local fire department via text message. This resulted in the system correctly detecting 77 fires before 999 calls were received in the first two months.
Of course, the list of best AI innovations is topped by AI Image Generator and Generative Fill-K in popular image editing software Adobe Photoshop. Adobe’s senior vice president of digital media, Ashley Steele, said their AI enables customers to bring their visions to life at the speed of their imagination.
Time also called Open AI GPT 4 a game-changing AI. This most powerful model of artificial intelligence is adept at verbal reasoning and can explain complex concepts in simple language. Last September, OpenAI made it possible to interact with models using speech and images as input. As seen later, the GPT-4V can describe the content of the image in plain language.
