FBCCI and GEN Bangladesh signed a bilateral MoU on Monday to build an innovative sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem. Chairman of FBCCI-Innovation and Research Center (IRC) Md. Jasim Uddin and Managing Director of Global Entrepreneurship Network-Bangladesh (GEN Bangladesh) Dr. Md. Sabur Khan signed the MoU on behalf of their entities.
As agreed in the MoU, the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry-FBCCI will closely cooperate the GEN Bangladesh in order to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Bangladesh under the auspices of their Research and Innovation Center (IRC). FBCCI is a business organization representing the private sector with over 80 chambers and associations, 22,000 direct members and 450,000 affiliated members.
In this regard, both organizations will work together for entrepreneurship development; create linkages with local and global investors and global research sharing and contribution; resource sharing and mobilization; event and program management; and eventually grow startups.
Chairman of FBCCI-IRC and former President of FBCCI Md. Jasim Uddin expressed his pleasure and excitement about the immense significance of signing this MoU. He expects everyone’s active cooperation in its implementation which will promote a culture of innovation, allowing industries to pioneer the development of products and services. Furthermore, he emphasized the important role in this partnership of supporting budding entrepreneurs and startups, enhancing their capacity for business innovation and access to finance.
Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Managing Director, GEN Bangladesh, expressed great satisfaction at FBCCI’s pioneering initiative to launch a dedicated research and innovation programme. He emphasized GEN Bangladesh’s commitment to showcase the innovative and creative endeavors of Bangladeshi entrepreneurs on the global stage. This is a move that will help international investors, angel investors and researchers in their collaboration with FBCCI IRC. Dr. Khan expressed hope that a joint project called “Heritage Haat” under the “One District One Product” initiative would be worked together by FBCCI-IRC and GEN Bangladesh immediately.
The MoU signing ceremony was also attended by Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, CEO, FBCCI-IR; Senior Vice President, FBCCI-IRC, Head, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Daffodil International University, and Director, Innovation Center, DIU.
