Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship smartphone i.e. Xiaomi 14 series is one of the most awaited smartphones of this year. It is speculated that it will enter the market by the end of October. A few weeks before the official unveiling, tipster sources have now revealed some surprising new information about the base Xiaomi 14 model.
Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has reported on social media that a new pink color variant of the Xiaomi 14 is currently in mass production, which looks very attractive. Like the Pro variant of the Xiaomi 14 series, its screen will also feature a 1mm bezel.
The tipster also claims that Xiaomi’s “new operating system focuses on smoothness”. This comment is probably made about MiOS. MiOS is said to be Xiaomi’s new custom operating system, which is set to replace the company’s more than a decade old MIUI.
A few days ago, the tipster said, MIUI 14 will be the last generation of MIUI and it will be replaced by MiOS. But Xiaomi later claimed that the new MiOS software could only be unveiled in China and will not be launched globally. Other tipsters like Ice Universe also hinted at the arrival of MiOS. So most likely, the Xiaomi 14 series of phones unveiled in China will only be seen running on the new OS.
It may be noted that, MiOS will not be a custom skin based only on Android OS like the current MIUI. Xiaomi is likely planning to make MiOS a universal operating system, which could be used in all devices from smartphones and tablets to cars and smart homes in the future. In practice it will be similar to Huawei’s HarmonyOS.
