State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak urged the workers to be ahead in the digital field as well as in the field of politics. Calling for equal preparation in these three areas of conference, movement and election, he emphasized on learning how to use them well to be active on social media by keeping oneself free from anger or sadness for the next three months.
Palak said, earlier there were gossiping in tea stalls and people used to go door to door asking for votes. Some used to spread rumors with applause. But now the digital social media like Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok is spreading these rumors. Therefore, apart from 5 crore Facebook, 4 crore WhatsApp and 2 crore TikTok users in the country, if we leave the field of social media like IMO, we will be weak in the war. So we have to learn to use them.
The state minister made such an expression while speaking at a workshop on social media and mass communication among workers of farmers and workers’ league in his constituency Singra on Tuesday night. The Krishak-Shramik League workers present online from CRI Dhaka were taught the techniques of using social media.
Singra Upazila Awami League President Md. Ohidur Rahman, No. 8 UP Chairman Lutful Habib Rubel, Municipal Awami League President Dalim Ahmed Don, General Secretary Sajjad Hossain and Joint General Secretary Ruhul Amin were present in the event.
Awami League President of Natore introduced the workers to Jatiya Sramik League Singra Upazila and Municipal Branch, leaders of all labor unions/organizations of the Upazila and newly elected committee president/general secretary of Bangladesh Farmers League Singra Upazila and Municipal Branch.
Addressing the trainees present at the beginning of the speech of the chief guest, Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that the price of internet and smartphone is within our reach for the welfare of digital Bangladesh. A typical farmer-laborer uses multiple mobile phones. Use Facebook.
Palak wanted to know who the present workers are using Facebook. Based on raising hands, it was seen that the Sramik League is ahead of the Krishak League in Singra in using Facebook. He termed Shramik League leader Jahangir Alam as Facebook guru in this connection..
