Commercial movement of metro rail will be closed on October 14 and 15 (Saturday and Sunday). Meanwhile, Metrorail service is closed on Fridays. As a result, passengers will not be able to travel by metro rail for three consecutive days.
Managing Director (MD) of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) MN Siddique told reporters at Eskaton in the capital on Tuesday (October 10).
He said that the commercial movement of metro rail from Uttara North to Agargaon will be stopped on Saturday and Sunday for system integration. After that, the Metrorail will run regularly as per the previous schedule from Monday, October 16. And once the service is fully operational, the weekend closure will be lifted. Meanwhile, in a press release, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), which is responsible for the construction and operation of the metro rail in Dhaka, has expressed its regret to the passengers for the temporary inconvenience caused by stopping the service for three days
