A foundation training and mathematics seminar on plasma was held at Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) on Sunday.
CUET Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam inaugurated the training workshop organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the university in the Academic Council Room of the Administrative Building in the morning.
IQAC Director Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman Bhuiyan presided over the function. The event was moderated by Prof. Dr. Md. Sana’ul Rabbi, Additional Director, IQAC. At the workshop, training sessions were imparted on “CUET’s Ordinance and Statutory Body”, “Academic Ordinances, Academic Programs, Rules and Regulations”, “Examination Rules, Regulations and Conduct of Examination” etc. Director of IEER and Professor of Civil Engineering Dr. Md. Moinul Islam served as the instructor.
Dr. Asaduzzaman, Director of IICT and Professor of CSE Department trained on “Outcome Based Curriculum (OBE)”; Comptroller Md. Shafiqul Islam trained on “Financial Rules and Procedures” of the university. Registrar (Additional Charge) Prof. Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir and Deputy Registrar (Contractual) Md. Shafiqul Islam presented on the subject of “General Service Rules and Promotion Rules/(MPQ)”. Professor Dr. Nurul Huda and Prof. Dr. Sudip Kumar Pal, Dean, Faculty of Civil Engineering presented the paper on “Leave Rules”.
More than 50 teachers from different departments of the university participated in the training workshop. Later, the vice-chancellor of the university handed over the certificates to the participants.
A seminar titled “Introductory Plasma and Its Applications” was organized by the University’s Mathematics Department at noon. Prof. Dr. Mamunur Rashid Talukder, Plasma Expert, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Rajshahi University presented the keynote paper at the seminar room of the Department of Mathematics of the University.
Professor Dr. Mosammat Tahmina Akter, Head of The Department of Mathematics presided over the function moderated by Prof. Dr. Ujjal Kumar Deb, Moderator of CUET Math Club. In the seminar, she discussed the basic concept of plasma and its various practical aspects, one of the most exciting topics of research in the current world. The CUET math club event was attended by teachers of the department as well as students of master’s and PhD courses studying in mathematics department.
