Amazon is going to bring ads to its Prime Video next year in line with rival companies. The company is taking this initiative to bring ad-free packages at a higher price.
Since the COVID 19 pandemic, the number of subscribers has been steadily decreasing, the streaming industry is trying its best to keep its income stream high in many ways. In addition to new and interesting content, they also plan to earn from advertising.
The US tech giant said it will launch advertising in the US, UK, Germany and Canada in early 2024. Later that year, advertising services will be launched in France, Italy, Spain, Mexico and Australia.
The users in the USA will have to spend an additional $2.99 in addition to the current Prime subscription of $14.99 for the ad-free package. Amazon said other countries’ costs will be announced later.
