A decision has been taken to grant 87 lakh 97 thousand taka to 53 educational institutions and science service institutions from the Science and Technology Development Trustee Board under the jurisdiction of the National Science and Technology Museum. The decision was taken at the 20th meeting of the Board of Trustees at the National Science and Technology Complex building on Wednesday.
Senior Secretary Ziaul Hasan NDC and board members were present in the meeting conducted by Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, Director General of the National Science and Technology Museum. The meeting was presided over by the minister, Ministry of Science and Technology and the Chairman of the board of trustees Architect Yeafesh Osman. The applications of the institutions receiving grants from the Board of Trustees were presented at the meeting.
It was decided to give a grant of 87 lakh 97 thousand taka for 53 secondary schools and colleges, science clubs and science service institutions across the country. At the meeting, the Minister of Science and Technology, Architect Yeafesh Osman said, “The purpose of this grant is to bring the light of science to the marginal level.”
He said, “To change the country, it requires strong consciousness. Science and technology is one of its adjuncts.”
In this context, Director General of National Museum of Science and Technology Mohammad Munir Chowdhury said, “This grant is playing a huge role in bringing science education to the marginal level and stimulating science practice. The great objective of this program is to make the entire nation science minded.”
