The imeGen Ventures Youth Challenge 2023 boot camp was held in Dhaka with young entrepreneurs. Generation Unlimited and UNICEF are creating a platform for young entrepreneurs to find technology-friendly and sustainable solutions to combat gender inequality and climate change using human-centered design, an initiative of JAAgo Foundation Trust.
During the three-day bootcamp, 52 young participants worked in teams to transform their ideas into projects to tackle climate issues and gender inequality. Participants were able to improve their problem solving skills as they were guided by expert facilitators. It develops unique solutions with the potential to bring positive change within and beyond their communities.
UNICEF Bangladesh Deputy Representative Emma Brigham said, “Over the past three days, the young people participating in the JNU imaGen Venture have joined us as positive agents of change”. He added, ‘I admire their passion, energy and fresh perspective which are important aspects for positive change and a more sustainable future’.
At Pitch Day, the participants pitched their emerging innovations to a panel of expert judges. The top three innovative and viable solutions are awarded $ 1,000 seed-funding along with mentorship and incubation support to further develop them. In addition, seven more boot camps will be held in seven other divisions over the next few months.
Commenting on the initiative, JAAGO Foundation Trust Chairman Korvi Raksand said, “imaGen Ventures Youth Challenge Boot Camp is an example of our commitment to youth talent and their innovative solutions. This program stands as a testament to the power and collaboration of youth to bring about positive change through innovation”.
